Cabin trims.

Main cabin edge trim.  The water will run off the back.

Trimmed across the front

Blocks to hold the visor mold in place.  The shim is the same thickness as the mold so the finish visor will be flush with the bottom of the cabin trim.

Blocks in place

Visor mold in place.  To get the slope of the visor the radius of the mold was eight inches larger than the radius of the cabin front, which is 7'6" radius.

Before fiberglassing the mold, it was waxed.  A strip of fiberglass cloth tape was put on the gap between the mold and the cabin trim.  Once set the visor was fiberglassed.  It is about three eights plus inches thick and very solid.

Once set it was trimmed to the cabin top and the mold.

Since the width of the trim was less than three inches, there is a three inch screw every inch and a half.

The edge is again fiberglassed with cloth (it goes around corners better than roven) over the top and back.  This covers the screws and gives a little more strength to the joint.

The underside of the visor

The cabin finished so far.  The coat of gelcoat is a sanding coat but does show the contrast as it will look when completed.
