If
all goes well and the boat is ready in an October or November, going to
southern Florida and possibly the Bahama's for the rest of the winter
would be the first leg. Then go north on the east coast intercoastal
waterway then through the Erie Canal and the Great Lakes. From
there to the Mississippi River, Ohio River, Tennessee and the Tombigbee
Rivers and back to Mobile, Alabama. This is known as the Great Loop. Upon completion of the Great Loop in Mobile, Alabama, we will head west on the gulf intercoastal waterway to Brownsville, Texas. The next leg is up for discussion. One option is to go by truck from Corpus Cristi, Texas to San Diego, California or another option is to go through the Panama Canal. That would be a great trip but need to do more research and hopefully meet a couple other boaters interested in doing it at the same time we would be doing it. Then up the West Coast to Puget Sound and back to Alaska. (Of course, all plans subject to change without notice.) |
